Microsoft has raised the price of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate by 50% and offered some additional perks like more games, access to Fortnite Crew, and better cloud streaming--but Microsoft is also removing a previous perk as well.
CharlieIntel has discovered that Xbox Game Pass Ultimate members no longer get 10% off Call of Duty Points or BlackCell bundles. The change appears to have gone into effect recently. This discount was a pretty nice perk for regular Call of Duty players who buy DLC.
People are roasting Microsoft for the recent Xbox Game Pass changes in all manner of ways, including through Mr. Krabs memes about being greedy.
Microsoft is raising Game Pass and console prices and laying thousands off at a time when the company made $27.2 billion in profit in a period of about 90 days. CEO Satya Nadella recently acknowledged the cuts, saying the "enigma of success" and pursuit of profit can be "messy."
Microsoft recently passed $4 trillion in total market cap, becoming just the second company ever, joining Nvidia, to reach those heights. Microsoft's market cap has since retreated to around $3.8 trillion.
In other Call of Duty news, the Black Ops 7 multiplayer beta is going on now, and it's available now for people who preorder, have Game Pass Ultimate, or find a code another way. The open beta begins on October 5.
