Circana has released its latest monthly sales report, revealing which games and hardware sold the best during October 2025. Battlefield 6 topped the software charts and Nintendo's Switch 2 came out on top for hardware.
According to Circana, the Switch 2 sold 328,000 units in the US in October. It's now pacing ahead of the original Switch by 68% and is also ahead 3% of the PlayStation 4's "previous record velocity" for sales.
The Switch 2 helped lift US hardware sales in October to $351 million, which was up 36% year-over-year. The Switch 2 did so well it offset the year-over-year declines experienced by the original Switch (down 52%), Xbox Series X|S (down 37%), and PlayStation 5 (down 22%).
Nintendo's own official sales data for the Switch 2 showed that the console sold more than 10 million units by the end of September, which is when the company's latest quarter ended.
The Switch 2 launched in June and is now entering its first holiday season. Nintendo's own official Black Friday/holiday discounts do not include any price drops or extra bundles for the system itself, but dozens of Switch 2 games are on sale.
As for Circana's report on game sales in October, Battlefield 6 had a record-breaking debut and quickly became 2025's best-selling game overall in the US.
