Clone Hero Multiplayer Setup Tutorial

This guide walks you through setting up Clone Hero for online multiplayer. Whether you're jamming with friends or hosting a rhythm night for your clan, this gets you connected fast.

Step 1: Download Clone Hero

1. Go to the [Clone Hero Official Site](https://clonehero.net/)
2. Download the latest version (currently v1.0.0.4080)
3. Extract the files to a folder like `CloneHero`
4. Run `Clone Hero.exe` to launch the game

For full install instructions, check the [Getting Started guide](https://wiki.clonehero.net/Getting_Started).

Step 2: Setup Your Profile

1. Launch Clone Hero
2. Go to **Profiles** and create a new one
3. Assign your instrument (Guitar, Drums, etc.)
4. Set your control scheme (keyboard, controller, or guitar input)

If you're using a guitar controller, check the [Controller Compatibility Guide](https://wiki.clonehero.net/Controllers) for supported models.

Step 3: Enable Online Multiplayer

1. From the main menu, go to **Online**
2. Click **Sign In** and create a Clone Hero account
3. Once signed in, you’ll see options to **Host** or **Join** a lobby
4. Choose **Host Lobby** and set a name, max players, and privacy level

You can also join public lobbies or invite friends directly. For more details, see the [Online Multiplayer section](https://wiki.clonehero.net/Online_Multiplayer).

Step 4: Add Songs

1. Download song packs from trusted sources (e.g., Chorus, CustomsForge)
2. Place them in your `CloneHero/Songs` folder
3. Launch the game and go to **Settings > Scan Songs**
4. Your songs will now appear in the song list

Make sure all players have the same songs installed to avoid sync issues.

Step 5: Voice Chat (Optional)

Clone Hero doesn’t include built-in voice chat. Use external tools like:
  • TeamSpeak (recommended for clans)
  • Discord
  • Mumble

If you're hosting a rhythm night, consider setting up a dedicated voice channel for smoother coordination.

Step 6: Test Your Lobby

1. Host a lobby and invite a friend
2. Load a song and confirm both players can select instruments
3. Start the track and test sync, latency, and controls
4. If something breaks, restart the game and re-scan songs

For troubleshooting, check the [Common Issues & Troubleshooting page](https://wiki.clonehero.net/Troubleshooting).

Final Notes

Clone Hero multiplayer is smooth once you’re set up. Keep your songs synced, your controls tight, and your comms clear. If something doesn’t work, check the [Clone Hero Wiki](https://wiki.clonehero.net/) or ask for help.
