So uh… yeah, this one goes in the hall of shame. While tinkering with game servers, I managed to yeet nginx, y’know, the thing that keeps the whole site alive. Bonus points: I also wiped the database software. Clan site and its entire structure went dark for a minute there.
But recovery mode engaged. Nginx is back, DB stack reinstalled, and the lights are on again. TMG infrastructure lives.
Now resuming the original mission: spinning up the new game server. DB is patched up (for now), so we’ll see if it behaves. Consider this a reminder that even the Troublemakers can trip over their own wires… but we always bounce back.
